How to Quickly Remove Label and Sticker Gunk

While many stickers and labels can be removed by simply peeling them off, others have to be either scrubbed off, leaving a gunk behind them which tarnishes the surface. No matter how much you rub it with a sharp object, the stickiness or the ruggedness does not go away completely.

There are a few solutions found in homes that can be used to get rid of the gunk that remains after a sticker or label has been removed.

Oils

Oils are found to be effective in gunk removal. Simply apply some cooking oil like olive or canola oil on the area and rub with a towel or a hard surfaced cloth. You can also use essential oils like eucalyptus or tea tree oil instead of cooking oil.

Citric Solutions

Citric based cleaning agents also work well. Otherwise, just apply a few drops of lemon juice, which contains citric acid, and then wipe the area with a cloth.

Alcohol

Alcohol is very effective in getting rid of sticker and label gunk. Plain alcohol or even vodka can remove the gunk comfortably. Just make sure that you don’t used flavored alcohol as it might leave some stickiness because of its sugary contents.
